The Super Eagles of Nigeria seem to have been handed a fair draw in next year's Nation Cup in Angola as it was grouped alongside defending champions, Egypt, Benin Republic and interestingly Mozambique; who many regarded as the country's saving grace at the just concluded South Africa 2010 World Cup qualifiers. Nigeria will play its group matches in Benguela.
In the draws conducted on Friday in Luanda, Angola, the tournament's opening game would be between host; Angola and the Eagles of Mali, while Malawi and Algeria are the other teams in the group with matches to be played in Luanda. The Group B pairing has Cote d'Ivoire, Ghana, Togo and Burkina Faso, in what looks like the group of death. Matches in Group B will be played in the city of Cabinda.
While in Group D, Cameroon and Tunisia lead the pack with Zambia and Gabon completing the list. The group games are scheduled for the City of Lubango.
The teams play one another once in a round-robin format, with the top two teams in each pool advancing to the quarterfinals.
The Nations Cup will run from January 10-February 10.
