Eagles will fall says Harambee Stars

Harambee Stars want to play at the Nations Cup and beating the Super Eagles on Saturday is the only guarantee that they will play in Angola early next year. A win for the Stars is, however, not a direct ticket to Angola but will depend on the Tunisia verses Mozambique results which should be in favour of Tunisia or at least a draw for Kenya to make it through. However, the Super Eagles still have a slim chance of qualifying for the World Cup in South Africa.

For that to happen, the Super Eagles would have to win in Nairobi, and hope for Tunisia to lose in Maputo. Nigeria is 2nd in group two on 9 points, Tunisia leads on 11 points while Mozambique and Kenya are 3rd and 4th on 4 and 3 points respectively.

Kenyan orders FKL and Hey to end standoff

Kenyan Prime Minister Raila Odinga has intervened in the row between the country’s football association and the coach Antoine Hey.

Reports monitored on Kenya Broadcasting Corporation says “Hey had asked to come and see him (PM), but the PM invited Sports Minister, Hellen Sambili and top Football Kenya officials, Titus Kasuve (senior vice-chairman) and Erastus Okul (second vice-chairman). He then asked them to sort out the stand-off before end of the day,” said Dennis Onyango, the PM’s spokesperson.

The coach has not given the players tutorials in the last 48 hours. “They were told to go and agree among themselves and to report what they had agreed on,” reported KBC.
