We will get the job done in Kenya, says Amokachi

Super Eagles’ assistant coach, Daniel Amokachi has given the assurance that the Super Eagles would get the job done by beating the Harambe Stars of Kenya when the two teams play on November 14, at the Kassarani Stadium for the last World group game for the South Africa 2010 World cup.

“It’s no longer in our hands but we are confident we will get job done in Kenya,” he said.

According to Amokachi, the Super Eagles players currently in camp are all in top shape and ready for action.

“We all know what is at stake and also know that we cannot afford any mistakes when we play the Kenyans, so we are going out for victory,” he said.

Favour

Nigeria is currently two points behind group leaders Tunisia, and a victory for Tunisia would make the result in Kassarani irrelevant. However, Amockachi is optimistic that the Mambas of Mozambique have what it takes to beat the Tunisians on their home turf, more so when the team is equally seeking a place in next years’ Nations Cup in Angola.

“They are a good team and if they play the way they usually do, then the Tunisians are in big trouble,” he said.

Weather

The Super Eagles are scheduled to leave the country today for Kenya, where many people have expressed concern about the high altitude weather conditions in the country.

“We could not have camped the players for two weeks because we want them to acclimatise, even if we want to do that, their clubs would not agree to such an arrangement. We can get around the weather to play our game,” he said.

Kenya

The Kenyans have also stepped up their preparations for the match against the Super Eagles even though their chief Coach Anthony Hey still remains absent at the training. The team has already been promised the sum of $7,500 by a local brewery company if they can secure victory over Nigeria

Optimistic players

Dele Adeleye, a defender is also optimistic: “For me, anything is possible, anything is possible in football. We just have to go there and win our game and after we win our game, we will now wait to see who will qualify between Tunisia and Nigeria.”

Another defender, Chidi Odiah, told the media in Abuja that, “I will approach it in a more serious way, try to get the three points and see what happens.

“You know this is the last game and its a decision game. We just have to play and win, nothing like having a draw but grabbing the three points. The three points is the only thing that can take us through,” he said.

"The Mambas of Mozambique have what it takes to beat the Tunisians on their home turf, more so when the team is equally seeking a place in next years’ Nations Cup in Angola"---- so Daniel Amokachi is now begging the Mambas to beat the Tunisians for them when they "Eagle" can not beat the said Tunisians in their own turf, definitely, the Eagle has no business being in South Africa come 2010.

The individual talents of the members of the Super Eagles have never been in doubt, atleast not by me. The problem is everything else. From administration, to team selection, to formation, to mental strength etc. A faster tempo game will do us more good, but the coach likes the slow style. It used to be an old African trait that confused European opponents. Almost every other team on earth has adopted a fast tempo except us, at senior level. The coach does not even believe in fast counter attacks. If you want to see the benefits of speed, look at the eaglets. Most teams, including Brazil, now play with only one point striker, and two wingers that double as extra strikers and wide midfielders. With two defensive midfielders and one central attacking midfielder, but we still player the older method of two strikers, that isn't even suitable to our players. Then, why field Yakubu against Mozambique for almost the whole match. The gentleman had been out of the game for over half a year and was not match fit, with ample strikers on the bench. So much is wrong...however, I pray for miracles in Kenya and Mozambique

Should this now be the time to start giving promises?..Our concentration is now on the U-17 players not the weaker eagles. We wish you what you wish yourselves!

Waiting to see how your 4-2-4 formation will work against Heyless harambee Stars

In case you did not win the match in Kenya, do not bother to come back to Nigeria because Nigerians will not welcome you. But thank God that we have gotten a replacement "THE EAGLETS" of course, they will continue from where you have stopped. Wishing you what you wish yourselves.

reading the comments already made, one sympathizes with the eagles handlers but God truly gave nigeria the opportunity to top the group when we led Tunisia 2-1 in Abuja but lost it by carelessly allowing them to equalize within the last 5 mins of the game. today all we do is pray and hope that we win and mozambique will help us beat our rival. this is rascality of prayer and even if we eventually make it to south africa, I don't see any chances beyond the group stage with this super eagles that lacks character. If Tunisia will represent Africa better, let them do.

Mr. Amochachi getting the job done in Kenya does not mean a place in the world cup. You should have gotten the job done in Abuja.
