Shuaibu Amodu
Date of birth: April 18 1958
Place of birth: Edo State, Nigeria
He played briefly for Niger Tornadoes of Minna before a bad leg injury cut short his playing career and he became a coach at the age of 31.
This is his fourth stint as the national team coach. He won the African Winners Cup with BCC Lions of Gboko in 1992 and took IICC Shooting Stars of Ibadan to the finals of the Champions Cup against Zamalek of Egypt in 1996 where they lost 3-2. His most notable achievement was qualifying the Eagles for the 2002 World Cup finals after Bonfrere Jo was sacked. He revitalised the team to get the ticket but he was himself sacked after the Eagles came third in the 2002 Nations Cup held in Mali.
