Manufacturers of concept car, Rinspeed, shocked the world with the unveiling of the Rinspeed sQuba. The car has the combined features of a car, a boat and a submarine. This means the amphibian vehicle cruises well on land, water and under water up to a depth of 10 metres.
The big idea for constructing such a wonder machine, was derived from one of Ian Flemming's James bond movie "The Spy Who Loved Me". In that movie is the Lotus Espirit hi-tech car, which Roger Moore drives under water for some of his espionage works. Even though Roger Moore's prototype is only movie magic, the Rinspeed sQuba is real.
More stunning, the Rinspeed sQuba doesn't run on fuel. It's built to power on electric motors, hence having zero emissions for zero pollution under water. On water it is driven by two propellers in the stem, while two powerful sea bob jets move it while navigating under water. On land, it moves via powerful torques which drives the rear wheel. The car has rotating louvres for operating and closing water intake.
Additional features
The breathing technique is perfect. The car has on onboard breathing system via an integrated compressed oxygen tank, designed like the ones scuba drivers use. The driver is bound to get wet under water, as the car comes designed with an open roof; reasons mainly for safety caution, for quick and easy escape in terms of emergency under water, and not getting trapped in the car. The Rinspeed sQuba is watertight and pressure resistant enough for manoeuvring under water.
The innovative machine is designed with salt water resistant interiors to prevent abrasion and super high friction diamond abrasive materials, to prevent floating on the driver's seat while driving. The car automatically submerges into water, as soon as water floods up to the brim of the car.
The car has the ability to drive autonomously, with its inbuilt sophisticated laser sensor system, which detects obstacles ahead of itself. Its rotating outlet jet for travelling, has been designed with very light and twist resistant high-tech nano materials called nano-tubes.
The car uses stainless coil-over suspensions for lifting back on surface of water after underwater navigation. Power for the car is supplied by rechargeable lithium ion batteries.
Rinspeed has declared that the production cost for the car is over $1 million.
