Governors address Jonathan as Acting President

The Nigerian Governors Forum said yesterday in Abuja that it considers Vice President Goodluck Jonathan as the acting president and praised the way he has handled the office so far.

The forum, which is headed by the Kwara State governor, Bukola Saraki, said in a communique issued after its meeting that it “identifies with the judgment of the courts on the same and agrees that the position of Acting (President) could be either verbal or written and the Vice President has been appropriately acting admirably.

The meeting which deliberated on the state of the nation as well as the Jos crisis, asked government agencies to support Mr. Jonathan.

“The Forum calls on all arms of governments to continue to give full and total support to the Acting President until the President returns in the interest of our dear and beloved country, Nigeria,” the communiqué read.

“The Forum also resolved to meet the leadership of the National Assembly with a view to urging them to pass a resolution to formally recognize the Vice President as the Acting President in the interest of the nation.”

The governors also promised relief materials to the victims of the Jos crisis, which they said was not a religious crisis but one stirred by ethnic and political motives.

BUKOLA SARAKI, WE ARE NOT DECEIVED!

The first sermon of President Yar'dua when he was sworn in is RULE OF LAW! let him do as he preached. the rule of law is let there be an ACTING PRESIDENT IN PERSON OF DR. GOODLUCK, sentiments apart. The Governors have not said anything new BUT THE WISH OF NIGERIANS. we can not continue to be a country without a substantial leader.

CALL HIM THE ACTING PRESIDENT, but NEVER OFFICIALLY DESIGNATE his as the acting president. Nigeria keeps sinking to the LOWEST lows.

Mr. Jonathan looking sharp in that picture. Please lose that cow-boy-wanna-be-hat that we always see you with. This is more like it :)

Is this the same Bukola Saraki who informed us that he had met the President in a Saudi hospital, and that he was hale and hearty, and ready to return to work 2 months ago? Please spare us the agony you shameless lot.We are not deceived by the recent volte face'. Nigerians now know the clowns called Governors for what they are.

Governors,well-done for believing in reality,God bless you all. Goodluck Jonathan acting as President does not mean taken over Yar'Adua government, rather,it is just to cement the vacuum on ground and to move the Nation forward. Nigerians are so sympathetic that if the right thing had been done earlier all these Yar'Adua not being around would have not arise, but for selfish individual or groups that are not friends but foe to Yar'Adua and his family.I advise that his family should be more concern about his well being than possition, once there is life, there is hope.If he dies today(God forbid)those foes out there will move on and look for another victim,so be warned and I pray you recover fast.

Events and the activities of some Nigerians make it difficult to have any faith in the survival of the nation.Bukola Saraki took some money belonging to Kwarans on the pretext that he as the Forum leader, was in Saudi Arabia to see the president. He LIED that the president was making progress and was soon to return. He has not returned and Saraki NEVER saw the man.Suddenly,an unregistered body styling itself as the Governors Forum turned up to back designating Jonathan an acting president, a decision that should have been made as early as that purported Saudi trip.Yuguda also LIED to Nigeians but soon,he will be IMPOSED on us as the VP.Ogbulafor is heading to Saudi Arabia to 'attempt' to clear with Turai and also reassure her that the deceit will work. What a country and what a leadership.

I dont belive this SARACOW whatever his name is,he should be crucify for lying for the whole country dat yar'dua is fit and capable to rule from kingfahad bedroom

Posted by michealmoore on Mar 07 2010

saraki is a mere mortal and subsceptible to lieing influences, that's why he dosen't know how to demarcate lies from ignorance and careless baseless coments. he should be disregarded.
