King Faisal Specialist Hospital and Research Centre (Saudi Arabia)

Is an 894-bed multi-facility, multi-entity tertiary care hospital and one of the leading healthcare institutions in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

King Faisal Ibn Abdulaziz Al Saud, laid the foundation stone for the hospital in 1970

Has four centres of excellence: The Research Centre, King Fahad National Centre for Children’s Cancer & Research, King Faisal Heart Institute, and the Oncology Centre

Has 18 Medical Departments, each with its own chairman

Has a Health Sciences Library which has 620 active subscription journals and over 23,000 medical books.

The University Medical Center Mainz (Uniklinik; Germany)

It also serves an additional 210,000 people per year on an out-patient basis.

Nigeria is capable of building and maintaining very good and reliable hospitals such as the ones above. At 49 and with our wealth and manpower, I still do not know why we have not done it.

If we have had such a hospital in our country,our president's situation would'nt be as bad as it is now.This is because,his illness would have been diagnosed and treated long ago.This is a food for thought!
