The Minister of Niger Delta Affairs, Ufot Ekaette, on Sunday threatened to revoke the contracts for the construction of the 337 km East-West road.
Mr. Ekaette said this at Eket, in Akwa Ibom State while speaking with journalists during a visit to inspect the road projects.
He warned the contractor handling the Eket-Oron section that substantial progress had to be achieved on the project by January 2010.
According to the minister, the ₦200.4 billion East-West dual carriage way projects were divided into four sections in Delta, Bayelsa, Rivers and Akwa Ibom States.
