Kidnappers, on Monday, snatched the wife of a member of the Cross River State House of Assembly at Igoli, Ogoja, in the northern part of the state.
Victoria Idiege is one of the three wives of Omang Idiege, representing Bekwara Constituency. Mrs. Idiege had gone to the Mater Dei Dei International Nursery and Primary School, to pick her children when she was kidnapped at about 3pm without a struggle and taken to an undisclosed destination.
“The woman came in her car and when she was about to park and move into the premises to pick her children, two men came out quickly from the car which had blocked hers from behind and asked her to join them, when she made to scream, they showed her the guns with them and she controlled herself,” a witness recounted.
The gun men later put a call to Mr. Idiege at midnight demanding for a ransom. When contacted, Mr. Idiege declined to speak on the incident.
