The Amatas

It all began with their late father, John, an actor who featured in Freedom, the largest motion picture during the colonial era, with a cast of five thousand.

His wife, Joy was also an actress. Today, their children Zack, Fred, Ruke, Mena and Elohor, and grandchildren, Viefe, Oreva and Jeta have all been involved in movies in one way or the other. Zack (oldest) is a former theatre arts lecturer and actor, while his brother Fred is an actor, producer and director.

Brother Ruke is an actor turned director, while sister Mena is a former actress and TV personality, and Elohor (sister) is an actress. Zack’s first son, Jeta, is an award winning Nollywood director while his brother, Viefe, is a film editor. Fred’s son, Oreva, was a child actor.

The Murray- Bruces

Ben, Roy and Guy are renowned for their huge investments in Nigerian entertainment with the Silverbird Group which consists of the Most Beautiful Girl in Nigeria (MBGN) pageants, Rhythm 93.7FM, Silverbird Television and the Silverbird Galleria.

Their MBGN pageant produced the first black Miss World, Agbani Derego, in 2001.

The Njamahs

John, Blessing, Empress and Aquila are all into the arts. Aquila is a stage actor turned movie producer and director, Empress is an actress while John is a producer, director and actor who is best remembered for his role in popular sitcom Fuji House of Commotion. Blessing is a former actress.

P-Square

Nigeria’s most popular twin singers, Peter and Paul Okoye have won lots of awards, most recently the 2009 MTV Africa Music Award for Best Group.

Since winning the Benson & Hedges Grab Da Mic competition in 2001, the only way has been up for the duo with three number one albums - Get Squared (2005), Game Over (2009), Danger (2009) - to their name.

Mamuzee

Another set of twin brothers, Andos Andrew and Akpos Anthony Dixon hit the Nigerian music scene in 1999, with singles, “Bobo” and gospel track, “Abi You No Know Say Jesus Na God?” By 2003, another single titled “Awigiri”, the African Esan dance, followed. They are known for their energetic dance steps and are both married to twin sisters.

The Oyatoguns

Sisters Moyo and Mofe anchor Daily Guide, a popular radio breakfast programme on Star 101.5FM which airs weekdays between 7.15 and 8.30 am. Their father, Walter, was an amateur boxer (1960-1966) as well as a Sports Commentator and Reporter with the Nigerian Television Authority (1976 - 1986).

The Edochies

Just like their father Pete, Yul and Linc are Nollywood actors who are gradually making a mark in Nigerian movies. The brothers have featured in the same movie on several occasions.

The Obes

Tunde is one half of music group T.W.O alongside his wife Wummi while younger brother, Segunis a gospel and inspirational singer with two albums to his credit.

The Afolayans

Their father Ade a.k.a. Ade Love was a renowned filmmaker and actor. Today, his son Kunle is an actor and director (Irapada and The Figurine) while brother Aremu is an actor.
