As the Federal Government begins to implement its post-amnesty programme, the Imo House of Assembly has protested the N6 billion provided by the state for development projects in the Niger-Delta region.

The N6 billion is part of N200 billion earmarked for such projects.

The Speaker, Goodluck Opiah, said at the Sam Mbakwe Airport, Owerri, on Monday that the lawmakers had already made their position known to the Minister of Niger Delta Affairs, Ufot Ekaette, when they visited him recently in Abuja.

Describing the budgetary allocation as unfair and shocking, Mr. Opiah said that oil producing communities in the state were sad over the low number of post-amnesty development projects allocated to the state.
