MEND proceed with 'Hurricane Moses'

Print print Email email Share Share

The Movement for the Emancipation of the Niger Delta (MEND) has proceeded on attacks at the Shell Well Head 20, located at Cawthorn Channel 1 at 0300 Hrs today. The attacks are In connection with the abduction of the region's kings, Egbema kingdom who was abducted by the Joint Military Taskforce (JTF) and is feared to have been killed.

Below is the full statement by Jomo Gbomo:

" I will bring one more plague on Pharaoh and on Egypt. After that, he will let you go from here, and when he does, he will drive you out completely."
- Jehovah (Exodus 11:1)

Showing no signs of abating, Hurricane Piper Alpha which upgraded to Hurricane Moses lashed out at the Shell Well Head 20, located at Cawthorn Channel 1 today, July 05, 2009 at about 0300 Hrs leaving total destruction in it's wake. The facility connects to the Bonny loading terminal in Rivers state.

Just in case the JTF spokesman denies that this attack ever took place, no one should be surprised.

Jokes making the rounds in our camps is that when Rabe Abubakar was introduced as a son by his proud father at a recent gathering, his instinctive reply was to deny, saying it was baseless and a figment of his father's imagination!

His mother who was also present became horrified because for the first time in her sons life as a chronic liar he came close to revealing the truth of a secret she had promised to take to her grave, that indeed Rabe is not his biological son.

For the JTF to deny that HRM Isaac Thikan, the traditional ruler they abducted is not in their custody should be a worrisome development and may be a confirmation that he has been actually killed. Time will tell.

Hurricane Moses is unique. It will combine dialogue in tandem with phased attacks that increase in intensity until its goal has been achieved.

This strategy was approved by Jehovah when He commanded Moses and Aaron to verbally convince a stubborn Pharaoh to free the people of Israel from years of bondage and at the same time taking actions to ensure compliance.

Aaron represents the various groups and individuals that will be doing all the talking on our behalf because we speak with faltering lips.

MEND wishes to disown the elders claiming to speak on our behalf at this time and that includes Chief E.K.Clark.

At the appropriate time, we will be putting together a team of notable Nigerians drawn from every tribe in the Niger Delta and some others outside the region to represent the group.

Let Northern Nigeria keep the political positions they desperately crave for, and retain Egypt built from the resources and detriment of the Niger Delta. But one thing they must let go this time is our freedom, which is fiscal federalism.

The plague of attacks which first started in late 2005 can only intensify until the stubborn, greedy, arrogant and wicked Nigerian Pharaohs that have held the Niger Delta and its people captive for 50 years will have no other choice than to let my people go.

Jomo Gbomo

Am beginning to respect MEND more and more each day. It seems this is the freedom we common men have been craving for in the last 40 years.

What shall we say then, if God be for us who can be against us? The hands of the pharaohs must be weakened and their pride will be reduced to nothing. Oh' how did it all come to this for a nation that was suppose to be great? All the best MEND and God speed!

God said to Moses in the Bible that he should collect the money to build his Temple Only from those that gives willingly "which he instructed moses on the mountain to build for him". I just love their (MEND)quotation, but everybody agreed that the Niger Delta area is greatly damaged, for they cannot fish which is what they depend on nor can they firm the their land because of oils damage to their land area. Leave the land as you have damaged it.

The people of the Niger Delta are trapped between greedy politicians, greedy MEND, callous oil companies, and greedy failed leaders. God help us all. too many people make money from chaos. Of course they will sabotage the amnesty.

MEND we will follow you on the exodus to the promised land. May Jehovah be your guard and guide.

Mend is the only voice of the marginalised Niger Delta. Let the elders go to bed.

MEND truly fights for the Niger Delta . Please keep it up because the government only understands violence. Thank God you have dissociated yourselves from the elders who pursue their interest rather than that of the Niger Delta people. MEND bravo I say.

If MEND up till now regardless of the presence of the JTF in the Niger Delta region still succeeds in carrying out their destruction of the pipelines and equipments of the multinationals effectively; shouldn't common sense tell us that JTF has not and can never be the solution to the problem created by our insensitive leaders that is now causing this great loss that will affect all the nation? I think it is high time JTF is disbanded and moved out of that region without further delay. It is only those that are gaining from the wanton destruction of innocent lives and properties that will continue to canvass for continued occupation of the area. Facts have shown that the JTF is a failure who leaves trail of only dead children, women and aged people in their trail. Shame on you JTF!

It's a shame that at this day and age people can still make unguarded statements. Well talking from a position of priviledge information i know that no such oil well was destroyed and that message is mere propaganda and efforts by some greedy criminals at thwarting the peace process. If Tokunbo thinks the JTF has failed and all they do is leave trails of dead children, well i think he/she might need to do some more study on activities in the niger delta. Having lived here i'm aware that the JTF have brought relative peace to most areas and reduced the kidnappings in towns and cities. These men should be commended for leaving their families and risking their lives to protect innocent civilians. You don't need to be extremely brilliant to know that the solution for the problems in the niger delta is not one that can be implemented by the use of violence, both by the Federal government and so called militants. God save our beloved Nigeria.

Mr concerned Nigerian, your priviledged position seems like a disadvantaged one because Shell just confirmed the attack. Do you think the MEND fighters have not left their own families to fight this injustice. Shut up when you have nothing to say. The solution is simply for the president to get a bill passed to okay fiscal federalism and there will be peace but you know this will not happen except it s taken by force. Why dont you advice your JTF friends to go and police the other parts of Nigeria where kdnappings are now a daily occurence

ND elders/Chief E.K. Clark want cheap publicity. What did they do to prevent JTF invasion? Why did they discuss the amnesty with the militants or freedom fighters in the creeks before this meeting? MEND wants Chief J.P Clark not Chief E.K. Clark to be the political spokesperson. Period. Besides the refugees situtation Gbaranmatu kingodm, I think Chief E.K. Clark should concentrate on developement of international standard airports, seaports, railroads, ferryboat transp, dredging of waterways/harbours, education buildings, hospitals, good roads with iron wire/concrete foundation leading to lagos and abuja. We don't need Julius Berger or Sotraco cos there are better international companies *(AECOM, Flour Daniel, Parsons..) that can do a better job in ND. Pay infrastructure development cost with crude oil and gas. Unfortunately, Chief E.K, Clark and his ND elders forum could not prevent any JTF invasions of ND communities. MEND is right. We need a new direction and thinking. The old man loves talking to the press even though Yara Adua refused to talk to him during JTF invasions. Chief E.K Clark, we want true fiscal federalism and we would appreciate if u limit ur press conferences to real physical infrastructure dev and fiscal federalism. this is how to create jobs for the youth. We need an International conference with UN/World Bank/US/EU participation. Allow MEND to manage the press/media. Why? cos MEND has a better tool and workable strategy. Most press/media groups Chief E.K. Clarks dabbles with are in collaberation with Remi Oyo/Frank Nweke - FG media consultants. Why do ND people pay higher prices for consumer goods when we have seaports and land for international airports. Everything is much more expensive in ND. don't blame the militants or freedom fighters. ND elders have develop narrow economic agenda, which selfish interest. ND location could be the hub of trade and commerce in bakassi pennisula and yet we don't have fully functional international std airport in Uyo/PH/Warri/Calabar? Chief E.K. Clark, please seek the decentralization of FAAN and NPA so ND can create good jobs for the youth and participate in global trade.

IT'S A PITY WE ARE BEING GOVERN BY SELFISH AND GREEDY LEADERS, WHO BELIEVE ONLY ON THERE OWN PERSONAL INTEREST OF LIFE AND THERE CHILDREN,FORGOTTEN WHAT THE BIBLE SAYS TO THEM "THAT THE MAD MAN AND FOOLISH MAN IS PACKING RICHES WHEN HE OR SHE DOES NOT KNOW WHO WILL SPEND THE MONEY". IF MEND CAN STILL DESTORYING ALL PIPELINES IN THE NIGER DELTA THEN WHAT IS JTF DOING OR LOOKING AT, IT'S A SHAME ON NIGERIA GOVERNMENT.
