Goals from Cristiano Ronaldo and Ji-Sung Park, ensured that Manchester United stand just a step away from becoming the first club to retain the UEFA Champions League trophy.
Alex Ferguson's Manchester side came into Tuesday's match at the Emirates Stadium with a 1-0 advantage from the first leg and effectively erased Arsenal's hope of appearing in the May 27 final, 11 minutes into the match.
First it was Park Ji-Sung who capitalised on a slip by left-back Kieran Gibbs, who was deputising once more in the absence of Gael Clichy, to put the defending champions ahead in the 8th minute before Ronaldo beat Arsenal goalkeeper Manuel Almunia three minutes later with an audacious long range effort.
With the score line increased to 3-0, on aggregate, there was no way back for the disheartened home side and Ronaldo salted their wounds with the night's third goal just after the hour.
The Portuguese international back heeled the ball to Korean international Park who sped forward before supplying England international Wayne Rooney down the left. Rooney wasted no time in returning the ball cross field to meet an onrushing Ronaldo who calmly swept the ball home over Almunia.
The only downside however for Manchester United was the dismissal of midfielder Darren Fletcher, who will now miss the Champions League final, for a foul on Cesc Fabregas. The foul resulted in a penalty from which Robin van Persie struck Arsenal's ineffectual late reply.
Manchester United will now await the winner of Wednesday's other semi final scheduled for West London's Stamford Bridge involving Chelsea and Barcelona.
This year's Championship final will be played in Rome, May 27.
