INEC partly release results in Ekiti election re-run

Results, released by the Independent Electoral Commission, for five local governments in the Ekiti Governorship election re-run shows that the Peoples Democratic Party has 394-vote lead over the Action Congress. Based on the results, the Peoples Democratic Party has 15,420 votes while the Action Congress has 15,026 votes.

In Gbonyin Local Government, the AC has 2871 votes while the PDP has 1925 votes. In Ekiti South-West the AC had 351 votes as against the PDP's 423. In Irepodun/Ifelodun the AC had 5702 votes while the PDP had 4087. In Ise/Orun the AC had 4221 while the PDP had 3864. In Ijero the AC had 1881 votes as against the PDP's 5121.

Declaration of results in the remaining local government areas has been postponed till tomorrow.
Elections in two in Oye Ekiti Local Government was also postponed till tomorrow, by the electoral body, due to attacks on electoral officers in the local government.

Party supporters have reportedly started burning tyres in front the collation centre's gate, close to Fajuyi Park.
