Party secretariats in Ekiti have been bombarded by observers searching for lodging and in need of funds.
NEXT discovered that both the Peoples Democratic Party and the Action Congress have sponsored various groups acting as observers for them, raising the level of tension in the state.
The State Security Service in Abuja had previously screened the number of observers down from over 60 to 20. Journalists have also been clamouring for accreditation and hotel accommodation.
In preparation for tomorrow's elections, Deputy Inspector General of Police, John Ahmadu, has been deployed to Ekiti to ensure that the 10,000 police officers drafted to Ekiti remain unbiased during the polls.
