1979: Born in Mbaise, Imo State, May 3, to an engineer father and school teacher mother.
1987: Gets her first role in the popular television soap opera, Ripples, and also features in Pronto beverage and Omo detergent television commercials.
1998: Is admitted to study Creative Arts at the University of Lagos where she begins auditioning for movie roles. Makes Nollywood debut in Most Wanted where she plays a news reporter. Goes on to feature in the Last Party and Ijele.
2001: Becomes first recipient of City People Magazine's Best Actress Award.
2002: Features in one of her most popular movies, Sharon Stone 1 &2
2003: Stars in Sharon Stone in Abuja. Her website Genevievennaji.com becomes one of the most visited sites online, getting about 200 Guest Book entries daily.
2004: Wins Best Actress award at the African Movie Academy Awards (AMAA). Alongside Richard Mofe Damijo, Rita Dominic, Stella Damasus-Aboderin, Omotola Jolade Ekeinde, Jim Iyke, and many others, she is placed on a one-year acting ban by movie marketers and producers who accused them of gross misconduct and of demanding exorbitant appearance fees.
She becomes the face of Lux Soap in a highly lucrative sponsorship deal that sees her gracing many billboards and commercials across Africa.
2005: Signs a recording contract with a Ghanaian record label and releases the album One Logologo Line which is a mix of several music genres.
2006: Stars in Mildred Okwo's Nollywood blockbuster, 30 Days, which she would later describe as her most physically challenging role till date.
2008: Launches clothing line, "St. Genevieve," which donates a percentage of its proceeds to the Link a Child Orphanage.
2009: Features on the Oprah Winfrey Show in the episode ‘Meet the Most Famous People in the World‘. She is said to have been chosen due to her wide appeal across the African continent and all over the world.
